I graduated from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in June 2003, with a Master of Art (MA) degree in Geography with emphasis on Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

While at University of Minnesota, I worked on the National Historical Geographic Information Systems project and at the Social Science Research Facility (SSRF) as a research assistant.

During the summer of 2002, I interned in The Newberry Library in Chicago, where I assisted with the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries project.

My first Master's degree was in Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology and Languages, at University of Berne, Switzerland. I participated in archaeological fieldwork at Tall al-Hamidiya (Syria) on three separate occasions.
